ABSTRACT: Models that have been proposed to explain the hierarchies of fermion masses and mixing, such as horizontal symmetries, fermion localozation in extra dimensions or wave function renormalization, lead to new (beyond SM) sources of FCNC and CP violation effects. Usually, those effects go beyond the Minimal Flavour Violation (MFV) hypothesis. A general comparison of MFV with the predictions of such models will be discussed. In the framework of supersymmtry, the implications for the supersymmetric spectra will also be presented.
