Institute of Materials Structue Science Platform for Drug Discovery, Informatics, and Structural Life Science (PDIS), which was originally launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), has been transferred to the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) since FY2015. The platform consists of three cores, Structure Analysis, Regulation, and Informatics. High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) has played a leading role in the platform, especially in the Structural Analysis core. PDIS has made technical developments in structural life science and supported many life science researchers in protein structure determination for drug discovery and basic life science in Japan. In response to moving the office of the Structural Analysis core to KEK in FY2015, we seek for a motivated researcher as an associate professor to lead the core office. The researcher is supposed to organize and host the steering committee meetings of the Structural Analysis core and other meetings such as the project selection committee meeting. The researcher will integrate many aspects of the project with incorporating ideas and proposing new activities for PDIS and play a critical role to collaborate with other cores and communicate with the PDIS office in the AMED. The successful candidate under supervision by director of the structural biology research center will also lead protein crystallography and hybrid method projects in the PDIS and is expected to make collaborations with other cores to open a new field of structural life science. |
