The end of support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008/2008 R2.
I am sending this email to remind you that technical supports by Microsoft for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and
Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems terminated on January 14, 2020.
If you are using the relevant OS after January 15th, disconnect the network immediately.
Then, Please discontinue the use of the operating systems quoted above.
1.When you discontinue the use of the OS;
1) Abolish the corresponding device and move to a new device with an OS within the validity period of support. (*1)
2) Replace the OS of the corresponding device with the most recent Windows OS
3) Replace the OS of the corresponding device with an operating system other than Windows such as Linux
2.When the abolition of the use of OS is difficult;
1) Use it without connecting to the network (*1)
2) Submit an exception application to use it connected to the network (*2) To connect computer systems with obsolete
operating systems to the network, you need to obtain the approval for an exception from the Chief Information
Security Officer (CISO). Therefore, you will not be able to connect your Windows 7 (or Windows 2008/2008 R2)
machine to the network until you obtain approval by CISO. Please note that the security management committee
examines the application for approval beforehand. The next committee will be held on February 18, 2020.
