Accelerators are fundamental device for "particle physics" study which probe the material of very small distances. They are also rapidly developing as a convenient tool which supports nanotechnology and semiconductor production and biotechnology development so as to examine a micro-structure of material and life using synchrotron radiation and neutron and muon produced by acceleration.
Europe and the United States led the accelerator science in the 20th century. However, each Asian country has begun to promote accelerator science as a national project since the latter half in the 20th century. The Asia has begun to show the power placing it third after Europe and the United States. The ACFA which was established by accelerator researchers from all over the world for development of accelerator science in Asian region is 12th anniversary this year. The importance of Asian cooperation is growing. Therefore "AAP" opened as a new communication tool of Asian accelerator science.
The AAP is a web directory of Asian accelerator source of information. This web site provides all information in four languages, English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. The goal of this web site is an easy accessible site for a lot of people, such as global researchers, science technology policymaker, media contacts who need Asian accelerator information. This site informs various latest information such as news and images and science technology policy of each country concerning of Asian accelerator science.
The AAP is jointly organized by a lot of Asian accelerator science research institutes including ACFA members.
