From 14 to 18 September, International Conference on Hypernuclear and Strange Particle Physics (Hyp-X) was held in Tokai village, Ibaraki, Japan. This conference is the 10th conference in a series that was started in Heidelberg, Germany in 1982, and has been held every three years. This conference is devoted to the progress of the knowledge about strangeness flavour in hadron and nuclear physics, which is one of the themes of physics experiments at the J-PARC in Japan.
Commemorating the J-PARC’s initiation in commissioning, Tokai was chosen as a venue for the meeting this time. About 180 scientists attended the meeting, and total of 95 lectures include 41 given by invited scientists. The meeting agenda also included the poster session, and J-PARC facility tour.
During the meeting recent results form various experimental facilities were reported, and intensive discussion on the interpretations of those results were taken place. Next Hyp-X meeting will be held in Barcelona, Spain in 2012.
