On 23 December, the IHEP-KEK Annual Cooperative Meeting was held at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) in Beijing, China. Two laboratories agreed on the extension of the Agreement of Academic Exchanges, which was signed in 1994 to work together to promote reserche in accelerator science, particle detector development and related fields.
Both sides reported and exchanged information regarding ongoing activities, and discussed how further strengthen the cooperation, setting five projects - IHEP's China Spallation Neutron Source project (CSNS), BEPCII accelerator, KEK's KEKB accelerator and Belle Experiment, and synchrotron radiation application - as the key areas for the cooperation.
