Mr. Jiaqi Tian, Awarded at SNP School 2025
Mr. Jiaqi Tian, Visiting Researcher from China (Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics), received the Hashimoto Prize, ANPhA 1st Prize, and SNP School Incentive Prize at the SNP School 2025 (December 1-5, 2025, Osaka University) which is a school on strangeness nuclear physics. He is theoretically investigating the structure of Λ hypernuclei using a deep learning method called Controlled Neural Network. The title of the oral presentation recognized for this award is “Cluster breaking and reconfiguration in the Λ12B Hypernucleus.” (Supervisor: Dr. Akinobu Dote) Excited states of the boron nucleus (¹¹B) exhibit unique structures known as cluster structures. The new calculation, which incorporates the cluster-breaking effect, allows for a detailed investigation of the structure of the Λ hypernucleus (Λ12B) from its ground state to its excited states. He has demonstrated for the first time that in Λ12B, the arrangement of the Λ hyperon — a particle distinct from nucleons — changes depending on the excitation energy, leading to a change in the type of clusters. We look forward to Tian’s continued success.
