The ceremony for the inauguration of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) took place in Tokyo on 6 July. Around 900 people include Ministers, Diet members, mayors, Nobel Prize winners, and laboratory directors around the world were gathered to congratulate the completion of the largest accelerator facility in Japan.
Shoji Nagamiya the director of J-PARC said in his speech, “We will be pursuing the researches in the field of particle physics, nuclear physics, material sciences, and life sciences. At the same time, we regard it as our important mission to provide user-friendly environment for researchers from abroad, and to strengthen the basis for industry-academia collaboration with pushing the joint research activities.”
