Simulation System for Elementary Particles, Atomic Nuclei, and Universe Begins Operation
(English translation 2024-06-05)
The NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA system began operation as the KEK supercomputer system on March 15, 2019. This system is supposed to run for the Particle, Nuclear, and Astro Physics Simulation Program run by the KEK Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies (IPNS). The Computing Research Center (CRC) is cooperating with the operation.
NEC SX-Aurora Tsubasa is a heterogeneous system with vector engines that accelerate calculations. A vector engine is a processor featuring high memory bandwidth that enables high-speed execution of large-scale calculations.
