Following the guide lines announced by the Government on May 22nd, KEK revised the preventive measure to be applied to all visitors to KEK. Please note that we may have to re-revise this as the situation changes. Please keep an eye on KEK announcements.
Anyone who will be visiting KEK or attending any gatherings such as conference, workshop, meeting in KEK, etc, and had been to the area(s) already infected by the Influenza A/H1N1 (see the list below), please observe the following rules up to 7 days after your departure from the infected area, even if you do not have any of the flu symptoms.
(1) Measure your body temperature at least twice a day (morning and afternoon) and record the values on a special downloadable blank form (see below).
(2) Always wear a surgical mask.
Please prepare your own thermometers and masks.
If you have any of the flu symptoms such as quick rise of your body temperature to above 38 deg.C (100 deg.F), coughing, joint pain, consult with a Public Health Center as soon as possible. Do NOT go to a hospital or clinic unless instructed by the Public Health Center to do so.
If you have a difficulty to communicate the Public Health Center in Japanese, try find a help from someone. (If you call a local Public Health Center in English, they will find an interpreter to take care of this problem and then they will call you back. Make sure you have your contact phone number with you when you call them.
Please download a special blank form and record your body temperature on the form.
