感謝の手紙 vol.2

私はインドネシアから来ました、総合研究大学院大学　博士（後期）課程、3年次編入の1年生のM Jauhar Kholiliです。 高度計器での新しいタイプのワイドギャプParticle検出器の開発を研究しています。

まずは、‘私がKEK奨学金を受けられましたことを感謝いたします。’と申し上げたいと思います。 KEK奨学金の経済支援で、私は、Masterを取得した後すぐ、Doctorの学位を取る為にパーティクル 検出器の開発に携わるという私の夢を遂行することができるということです。5年前、私はちょうど学 士の学位を取った時、IndonesiaでKEKによる短期のworkshop・研修があり、私たちは、何人かの先生から パーティクル検出器について教えていただきました。それ以来、検出器の開発が本当に私の将来の研究のキャリアである と思っております。また、KEKはParticle検出器を学ぶ最高の場の一つであると思います。そして、 今お陰様で私はここ（KEK）におります。

高度な業界、研究施設が少ないという事実から、物理学部を卒業した人に合う仕事が少なく、 Indonesiaでは特に物理学に関連した仕事を得るには、学士の学位を取っただけでは本当に難しいことです。 ですから、私は大学の専攻として物理学を選んだ時、後々、数少ないpositionを勝ち取るための十分な知識や 経験を得られるよう、そして研究者として専門的に働けるよう、既にDoctorの学位を得るまで続けることを 決心いたしました。

最後に、私はKEK奨学金の寄付者の皆様にもう一度御礼を申し上げたいと思います。 そして、私はこのKEK奨学金を実現化するための皆様の御尽力に本当に感謝をしております。 私はこのプログラムが続きますことを願い、多くの若い学生たちの夢が実現するように望みます。

My name is Muhammad Jauhar Kholili, from Indonesia. I am a three-year doctoral student of SOKENDAI who are working on developing a new type of wide gap particle detector in Advanced Instrumentation group KEK.

First of all I want to say “Thank you very much for granting me the KEK scholarship”. With the financial support from KEK scholarship I can pursue my dream to working on development of particle detector for my doctoral degree soon after I finish my master degree. 5 years ago when I just graduated from bachelor degree, there was a short workshop held by KEK in Indonesia and some Professors taught us about particle detector. Since then, I really think that developing detector is my future research career. I also think that KEK is one of the best places to learn about particle detector, and now thankfully I am here.

And due to the fact that there are not many advanced industries and research facilities in Indonesia, only few jobs that is suitable for physics graduates and they are really hard to pursue especially with a bachelor degree only. Therefore, when I decided to choose physics as my major in bachelor degree I already made up my mind to continue my study until I get a Doctoral degree, so that I get enough knowledge and experience to compete for that few positions and work professionally as researcher afterward.

Finally, I want to say again many Thanks for all of the donors of KEK scholarship and I really appreciate all of your efforts to realize this scholarship program. I hope this program continues, so it can make dream of many young students come true.
