Materials Chemistry Group

Group Leader: KIMURA, Masao

Our group is developing and providing the observational technology required for the chemistry that contributes to the production of materials and substances that improve our daily life, and expanding the research and use of this technology in other fields. Taking into consideration for the next-generation light source, we are conducting research that uses observational technology, including spectroscopy: X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and scattering and chemical-state imaging, in collaboration with industry, academia, and the government.

[Main Research Projects]

Research and development of reaction observational technology using XAFS spectroscopy, scattering, and chemical-state imaging

R&D of operand observation of various reactions in terms of heterogeneity, dynamics and interface using synchrotron.

We are researching and developing observational technology with a focus on XAFS and fluorescence spectroscopy along with scattering and materials structure imaging. In addition, we are improving beamlines and conducting research on material structures and chemical reactions.
