Research at KEK Accelerators Recognized with PASJ Awards

At KEK, a wide variety of research activities are conducted using different types of accelerators. During the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Particle Accelerator Society of Japan (PASJ) held in August, numerous presentations covered topics ranging from accelerator and component development to applied research using accelerators.

At the meeting, Kazumichi Sumi (formerly at Nagoya University, currently with AISIN Corporation) delivered an award lecture as a recipient of The 21st PASJ Award for Research Encouragement (FY2024) for his work titled “Research on low-emittance muon beam acceleration for the J-PARC Muon g−2/EDM experiment.” The PASJ Award for Research Encouragement is presented primarily to young researchers who have demonstrated outstanding independence, motivation, and achievement in the field of accelerator physics and technology.
In addition, presentations by graduate students and young researchers related to KEK accelerators received PASJ Annual Meeting Prizes, which are awarded to students and early-career researchers for excellent presentations given during the annual meeting.
The continued success and contributions of these researchers are highly anticipated.
