Mission of "Superconducting Accelerator Center, Application and Innovation Team"
"Superconducting Accelerator Center, Application and Innovation Team" is conducting development for industrial applications using superconducting accelerating cavities. The objectives are wide-ranging, including the development of high-power free electron laser in the extreme ultraviolet range for lithography and electron beam irradiation for the generation of diagnostic reagents for nuclear medicine.
Our activity is performed at the compact ERL in the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) Tsukuba Campus. We are actively developing not only key hardwares such as superconducting accelerating cavities and high-brightness electron guns but also energy recovery operation with an average beam current of 10 mA using the superconducting accelerating cavity and free-electron laser with CW (continuous wave) mode.
