On May 26, 2022, visitors from Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. (TCRDL), led by Dr. Koukichi NAKANISHI, President and CRO, came to High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) and International Center for Quantum-field Measurement Systems for Studies of the Universe and Particles (QUP).
First, a meeting was held with the KEK director general, the executive directors, and the director of the Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies (IPNS), where activities of both laboratories were introduced. The QUP director, Dr. Masashi HAZUMI joined remotely from the U.S., where he was traveling. Commemorative photos were taken with the MOU document signed on April 1st for the establishment of a QUP research satellite at TCRDL (photo). After visiting QUP research sites and the KEK Photon Factory, they had a discussion with the director of IPNS and Dr. Katsuo TOKUSHUKU, administrative director of the QUP.
In recent years, sensing and control in the quantum world below the nanoscale have become important. QUP and TCRDL jointly aim to develop devices that utilize these technologies. We also hope to promote efforts toward the social implementation of quantum field measurement.
