JSPS core-to-core program: CMB Japan group seminar for young scientists

WPI-QUP co-hosted the "JSPS Core-to-Core program: CMB Japan group seminar for young scientists" on March 7th to 8th, 2024, at the Epochal Tsukuba International Congress Center in Japan with over 40 participants to highlight the latest advancements in Cosmic Microwave Background.

The workshop was co-organized by WPI-QUP (International Center for Quantum-field Measurement Systems for Studies of the Universe and Particles) and JSPS Core-to-Core Program: Exploration of the origin and evolution of matter and space-time: A research consortium for cosmic microwave background (PI: Akito Kusaka, UTokyo).

The format included in-person and Zoom attendants with 14 contributed talks by world leading researchers to discuss on state-of-the-art CMB instruments, data analysis techniques, and the latest results on Axion-like particle search with POLARBEAR telescope. The second day incorporated a distinguished review talk by Kyohei Yamada to speak on “Exploration of polarization angle variability of Crab Nebula with POLARBEAR and its application to the search for axion-like particles” and ended with a full tour of KEK.
