Takafumi Miyamaru, a QUP Graduate Research Fellow, has won the Student Presentation Award by JPS.

The Physical Society of Japan recognizes students who deliver outstanding presentations at its annual general meeting. Takafumi Miyamaru, a graduate student at the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University, received the award again at the 80th Annual Meeting of the Physical Society of Japan held at Hiroshima University in September 2025, following his 2024 award. Takafumi was a QUPIP intern from 2023 and has been a QUP Graduate Research Fellow since April 2025.

The title of his talk was “Preparatory Study of an X-band circularly-polarized dual-frequency focused collision system for pilot ALP searches in the µeV mass range.” The talk focused on research conducted at QUP.

Takafumi made the following comment.
“This presentation reported a proof-of-concept experiment validating a key technology for dark matter search via microwave-resonant photon-photon collider. I'm truly honored to receive this award. In the future, we aim to conduct a high-sensitivity dark matter search by implementing cryogenic quantum measurement systems.”
