As an experimental physicist, I specialize in the development and application of low-temperature detectors for precision measurements in fundamental physics. I earned my Ph.D. from Heidelberg University, where my research focused on high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy of light muonic atoms to determine their absolute nuclear charge radii. I joined QUP to work across disciplines and contribute to the next-generation quantum-field measurement systems.
Research Content
My research focused on Metallic Magnetic Calorimeters (MMCs) and the detector development. This included the simulation, design, fabrication, and characterization of MMC-based detector arrays, as well as their experimental application and data analysis. We determined low-lying muonic X-ray transitions with unprecedented accuracy.
For my research at QUP, we are developing and applying Transition-Edge Sensors (TES) for high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy of exotic atoms. Through these measurements, we probe Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) with extreme sensitivity and ultimately search for new physics.
