On June 9, 2015, H.E. Smt. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, the Ambassador of India, Dr. Chadaram Sivaji, the Counsellor Science and Technology, Embassy of India, visited KEK, to promote research partnership and to sign for the 1 year extension of Indian Beamline agreement with KEK.
KEK has originally signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Department of Science and Technology (DST, India) on science and technology cooperation in 2008. Based on this MOU, the Indian Beamline was set up and has been operated at Photon Factory, which allows fundamental research by Indian researchers. After concluded the renewal of the MOU, Prof. Murakami, Deputy Director of Institute of Materials Structure Science, led a tour to the Indian Beamline and Prof. Milan K. Sanyal, the PI of this project, explained the research activities. Then they talked with India researchers about their experiment.
