- 素粒子原子核研究所（素核研）の略称であるIPNS（Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies、素核研の英語名）をモチーフにしており、”i”のドットと楕円は原⼦中の電子と粒⼦加速器/衝突型加速器を意味しています。PとNが重なっている部分は、素粒⼦物理学と原⼦核物理学が密接に絡み合っていることを表しています。2種の⻘⾊はKEKのロゴマークの色をイメージしており、素核研がKEKの一部であることを表しています。
The logo shows “IPNS”, the Institute’s abbreviation. The ellipse with an “i” dot represents both an electron in an atom and a particle accelerator or collider, while the “P” and “N” are woven together, as are the fields of particle and nuclear physics. The two blue colors are inspired by the KEK logo, showing that IPNS is a part of KEK.
