Masashi Hazumi

As a physicist, I pursue the fundamental laws of elementary particles and space-time, coming up with ideas for experiments and observations, setting up and executing projects, and writing scientific papers.

Research Content

I am interested in the experimental verification of the cosmic inflation theory. I am collaborating internationally to observe the polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation. I am the global PI of LiteBIRD, a satellite mission I proposed, selected as JAXA's strategic L-class mission to be launched in the 2020s. At QUP, I work as the director and a PI. Before I jumped in to experimental cosmology, I worked on particle physics experiments, including the KEK B factory.
