My research goal is to express the fundamental law of physics in the language of mathematics, quantum field theories and string theories, and to explain the hierarchical structure of space-time and matter and its evolution.

Research Content

I have been working on various subjects in theoretical physics including Higgs physics, electroweak symmetry breaking, phase transitions in the early universe, blackhole information paradox, cosmological constant problem, and noncommutative space-time predicted from superstring theory. The underlying belief in these research interests and my approach to them is that a hint to solve various unsolved problems in particle physics will be in understanding the vacuum structure and its dynamics of quantum field theories and string theories. I got this belief when I started my research career in statistical physics and condensed matter physics. Since then, I have been working on theoretical particle physics with great interest in interdisciplinary approaches based on condensed matter physics.

As a senior scientist of QUP, in addition to the above researches, I would also like to explore experimental frontiers in particle physic such as new particle searches or quantum gravity by making the best use of recent developments in quantum sensors or quantum information theory.
