QUP Principal Investigator; Nanae Taniguchi has been awarded the 4th (2023) Fumiko Yonezawa Memorial Award.

"Fumiko Yonezawa Memorial Award" was established in 2019 to honor and encourage activities of female scientists in the field of physics in commemoration of the achievements of Dr. Fumiko Yonezawa, the first female president of the Physical Society of Japan and her efforts in supporting female scientists.

Dr. Taniguchi was awarded this prize for "Advancing the Search for New Physics Beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics." The award ceremony will be held at the annual meeting of the Physical Society in September.

"I was pleased when I learned that Dr. Yonezawa studied in Kyoto during her student days as I did, which made me even more special for this award," said Nanae Taniguchi. “I am delighted that our achievements at the international experiments at KEK are recognized. I will put further effort at QUP into the development for new detectors of research in future experiments."
