WPI-QUP's Principal Investigator Takhistov was interviewed by Top Colorado High School Students in Physics at Aspen’s “Radio Physics”

Volodymyr Takhistov, Principal Investigator and Associate Professor at the International Center for Quantum-field Measurement Systems for Studies of the Universe and Particles (WPI-QUP) at KEK, recently participated in “Radio Physics”, hosted by the Aspen Center for Physics in Colorado, USA. Radio Physics is a collaboration with top high school physics students in Colorado, the Aspen Center for Physics, and KDNK Community Radio in Carbondale.

Speaking with a select group of top high school students from Colorado, Takhistov discussed the challenges and excitement of doing physics, highlighting the discovery process behind trying to reveal the fundamental laws of the Universe.

During the discussion, Takhistov also emphasized QUP’s role as a unique international research center in Japan. As part of the The World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) supported by the Japanese government, QUP emphasizes fostering unique international and interdisciplinary research environment, bridging research across distinct fields including quantum science, particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology as well as measurement science. The center’s focus on quantum field measurements and the development of novel observational techniques aims to drive fundamental discoveries using "new eyes", and advancing our understanding of the Universe at its most fundamental level.
