A visit from the United States Embassy of Tokyo

Mr. Jason P. Hyland, the Deputy Chief of Mission the United States Embassy of Tokyo visited the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, KEK, on September 13, 2016 and met with Executive Director Dr. Yasuhiro Okada, KEK researchers and the United States researchers working on the Belle II Experiment.

At introduction and overview of KEK, Mr. Hyland received an explanation of the summary of KEK's research activities, and the U. S. - Japan cooperation program in the field of high energy physics.

Mr. Hyland and participants had a lively exchange of views about the U. S. researchers contribution to KEK's research activities, how to manage the international collaborations, and next-generation accelerator projects.

After the meeting, Mr. Hyland took a tour at Belle II detector and Superconducting RF Test Facility (STF).
