Report on KEK-PH2026winter Workshop on Particle Phenomenology—Exploring Future Directions of Particle Physics and Cosmology

The KEK Theory Meeting on Particle Phenomenology (KEK-PH) for FY2025 was held from February 16 to 19 at the KEK Tsukuba Campus. This workshop has a history of more than 20 years and attracts many researchers from overseas. This year, it was held jointly with the IPNS workshop and brought together approximately 100 participants, primarily early-career researchers, featuring a wide range of presentations.

This workshop featured active discussions exploring future directions of particle physics and cosmology. Drawing on the latest research trends, these discussions covered a diverse range of topics, from the Standard Model of particle physics to its extensions and cosmology.

Presentations included the latest results and future prospects from Belle II, LHC, and FASER experiments, as well as various theoretical and experimental approaches to searching for physics beyond the Standard Model. In addition, many talks addressed cutting-edge and cross-disciplinary topics at the intersection of particle, nuclear, and cosmology. These included the Electron–Ion Collider (EIC) project, dark matter searches using gamma-ray observations, and measurements of the cosmic microwave background by the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT). There were also presentations on emerging research areas, including applications of quantum machine learning and AI, resulting in a diverse and engaging program.

About 60 presentations were delivered, mainly by early-career researchers, further heightening expectations for progress in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model and in unraveling the mysteries of the Universe.
