KEK service J-PARC bus between KEK and J-PARC.
Service only on weekdays (No service on weekends and National holidays)

J-PARC User ID card (J-PARC staff can use your own affiliation ID card) is required when you take
J-PARC bus. When you first come to J-PARC without obtaining your J-PARC User ID card, Temporary
User ID card is needed. Please request Temporary User ID card in advance on the Application form to
visit J-PARC. Refer here to see more detail.
| Take a train from Tsuchiura Station |
There is a method to reach by limited express and local train from Tsuchiura Station.
 Local train
Take a local train of Joban line from JR Tsuchiura Station to Mito Station, you change the train to
Tokai Station at Mito Station.
Tsuchiura Sta.―(55 min.)― Mito Sta.―(15 min) ― Tokai Sta. fare 1,140yen
Limited express
1) Take a Limited express train of Joban line from JR Tsuchiura Station to Tokai Station.
(fare 1,140 yen ＋Limited express fee 1,180yen )
Tsuchiura Sta.―(45 min.)― Tokai Sta. fare 2,320yen
Some Limited express train doesn’t stop at Tokai station. you have to change a local train at Mito
Station to Tokai station.
2) Take a Limited express train of Joban line from JR Tsuchiura Station to Mito Station. you change a
train to Tokai Station at Mito Station, you change the local train to Tokai Station at Mito Station.
(fare 1,140 yen ＋Limited express fee 930yen )
Tsuchiura Sta.―(31 min.)― Mito Sta.―(15 min) ― Tokai Sta. fare 2,070 yen
| Take a bus from Tokai Station (From 2015, April 1st) |
You can take a bus from Tokai Station to J-PARC from April 1st. Name of bus stop is "Genken-mae"。
You may take the Ibaraki-kotsu Bus from Tokai Station East Exit bus stop for "Ibaraki Higashi Byoin"
(Ibaraki East Hospital) or "Kaihin koen-nishi-guchi"(Kaihin Park West exit), get off the bus at "Genken-
mae" bus stop. There are eight bus stops from Tokai Station to "Genken-mae". The fare is 220 yen.
The 20:33* bus (Tokai Station) and the 20:15* bus (Genken-mae ) do not run on Sunday and Holidays.
You can reach at the Tokai Users Office (KEK Tokai 1-go-kan) in a few minutes on foot.
