 Postal Service and banking business (ATM service) are possible at the Post Office.
 
 Opening hours (over the counter): Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
 Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and January 1 through January 3.

 To open your account, you need your Residence Card.
 It is advisable that you apply for a bank cashing card for automatic teller machine (ATM) at the same
 time.

 orenji_pin Overseas remittance

  You can transfer money from the Yucho (Japan Post) Bank. There are two ways to do this

  1. Tsuujou kawase Standard Remittance Cheque:
   Make a remittance cheque for a certain amount in the target currency and then take it over to the
   post desk to mail it.
   The fee is 2500 yen except for the U.S. which costs 2000 yen.
  2. Kouza ate soukin Direct to Foreign Account:
   More convenient and quick, transfer electronically the amount directly into a foreign bank account
   from yen notes.
   Alternatively, you can transfer from a Japan Post savings account (口座間送金 kouza kan soukin).
   The fee is 2500 yen and
   it takes about four business days to clear.

  Here’s what you need to have and know for the form and transfer:

  1. Yen cash for the transfer
  2. Passport
  3. Foreigner Registration Card
  4. Foreign Bank code (International routing number)
    BIC(Bank Identifier Code) or IBAN(International Bank Account Number)
  5. Foreign Bank account number
  6. Foreign Bank branch and its address, associated with the account
  7. The address listed on the foreign bank account
  8. Your Japanese address and telephone number
  9. A reason for the transfer, which you may have to explain simply in Japanese.
  10. 2500 yen for the service fee

 orenji_pin Foreign currency exchange

  You can change foreign currency at the Tsukuba-gakuen Post Office. Oho Post Office can change only
  US dollar.
  The foreign currency exchange is possible at each bank and Tokyo Station, Akihabara, Keisei-Ueno
  Station.

  You can withdraw money with your cards at Yucho Bank (Japan Post) and Seven Bank ATM.
  Cannot withdraw money by the overseas card from ATM of Joyo Bank. More information is here. ya

 Exchange is available with US dollars at the Oho Branch and Kenkyu Gakuen Toshi Branch. But sending
 money oversea is available only Kenkyu Gakuen Toshi Branch.
 The foreigner who does not have a Residence Card cannot sending money oversea.
