BL-11D : Characterization of Optical Elements used in the VSX region
The current BL-11A, BL-11B and BL-11D will be shut down at the end of FY2022 due to the construction of a multi-function R&D beamline. The activities of these beamlines will be continued at the new BL-12A (scheduled to start in late FY2023) and the existing beamlines. For more information, see Reconstruction of BL-11 and BL-12.

Notes
The beamline can be selectively used with the other beamlines covering similar energy ranges (Undulator: BL-2A/B, 13A/B,16A, 19A/B,28A/B, Bending magnet: BL-7A, 11A), so please consult with the contact person for the request.
Performance
Source
2.5GeV PF Bending magnet (B11)
Optics
Variable-included-angle monochromator with spherical gratings(an entrance slit, focusing mirrors, plane mirror spherical gratings, and an exit slit)
2 focusing post-mirrors (an elliptic mirror for the vertical focusing and an elliptic mirror for the horizontal focusing)
Energy range
200 - 900 eV (G1), 60 - 245 eV (G3)
Resolution (ΔE/E)
1/2000 (G3, Slits 200 μm x 100 μm)
Beam size
Typical beam size at a sample position in the reflectometer : 1 mm (H) x 0.1 mm (V)
Photon flux
1.2 x 1010 photons/s (G3, Slits 200 μm x 100 μm, 130 eV)
Instruments
A eflectometer
The incidence angle varies between 5 and 89 degrees. The angular resolution < 0.1° in reflectivity measurements is available. A sample of φ200 mm can be mounted on the sample stage. It is also possible to place multiple small samples on the stage. The ultimate vacuum of the reflectometer chamber is 1 × 10-5 Pa.
An Auger electron - photoelectron coincidence spectrometer
The Auger electron – photoelectron coincidence spectrometer can be installed downstream of the reflectometer mount by sliding the reflectometer to the BL-10 side to install the beam duct. For more information, please contact the person in charge.
Detectors
Soft X-ray detector
Remote / Mail-in

Special notes
Users are permitted to bring in their own apparatus to BL-11D. The pressure at the connecting chamber to the BL should be under 10-6 Pa
