The 20th Workshop on Environmental Radioactivity was held at Kobayashi Hall from March 12th to 14th, 2019.
This workshop marked a 20-year milestone, and a total of 195 people participated.
There was a lively discussion on a wide range of topics including "natural environmental radioactivity," "radiation and nuclear facility environmental radioactivity," and "Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident."
Mika Tarui (Ibaraki University), Shota Kanbayashi (The National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology, Institute for Radiological Science), Fumihiro Kimura (National Defense Academy), and Ryo Hasegawa (University of Tsukuba) were awarded the Research Society Encouragement Award.
