KEK Winter Science Camp was held

The KEK Winter Science Camp, a practical training program for high school students, was held for four days from December 24 to 27, 2019. The 24 participants from all over the country were divided into four courses for practical training.
At the Applied Research Laboratory, a practical training program was planned under the theme of "Let's learn about radiation".
6 participants tackled the subjects which were beyond the high school curriculum, such as the relationship between radiation and shielding thickness and statistical errors. The way they overcame various difficulties, such as sudden equipment trouble and unexpected measurement results, was just like an actual research site.
On the final day, there was a conference-style presentation of the results, which was followed by lively discussions.
