The 60th nuclear chemistry summer school was held at Yokotei in Nagatoro, Saitama Prefecture from August 30 to September 1, 2023, organized by Matsumura, Yoshida, Watanabe (KEK), Kikunaga, Yokokita (Tohoku Univ.), and Sakaguchi (Univ. Tsukuba) as the host persons. In total 38 university faculty members and 16 undergraduate and graduate students, a broad spectrum of all ages, participated. There were six special lectures related to nuclear chemistry by the invited speakers and nine short presentations by the participants.
The nuclear chemistry summer school is a study group of volunteers, primarily members of the Nuclear Chemistry Subcommittee of the Japan Society of Nuclear and Radiochemical Sciences, and has a very long history, this year being its 60th occurrence. The exciting discussions that continued through the night are the unique features of nuclear chemistry summer school. It was the first face-to-face meeting in four years due to COVID-19, which enabled many productive discussions.
