Athena Program visitor at Radiation Science Center

Ms. Adila Hanim binti Aminordin Sabri visits KEK Radiation Science Center for the Athena program from 14th Oct. to 3rd. Nov. During the stay, she learned about the measurement and simulation of gamma rays that are related to her research. In addition, she visited iBNCT and Tohoku Cyric to learn new technologies for the medical application of radiation. In the measurement program, she learned how to use CeBr scintillation spectrometer. Then, she establishes the setup to measure scattered gamma-ray contribution using the spectrometer. She successfully identified the contribution that comes from the roof, wall, and floor of her setup. She also learned about the basics of PHITS calculation to simulate the setup. Finally, she visited KEK accelerators to understand our ongoing projects.
