Mechanical Engineering Center's Masterpiece: Make own tools

This work was requested by the Institute of Materials Structure Science under the work title of “Membrane & Sample Block”. Most of the work was to perform additional machining on a stainless disc called a blank flange. The O-ring groove is to be machined near the center, but since no suitable tool was available, we made our own tool (cutting tool) as shown in Fig. 2, based on a tool called an end mill. There was an instruction to machine a conical hole on the other side, we covered it with curing tape to avoid damaging it with shavings (Fig.3).
