◆14-08 Positron Annihilation Studies of Materials using a Surko Trap-Based Beam

物構研談話会
  • 日時:10/14(Thu.)11:00~
  • 場所:4号館2階輪講室1/東海1号館3階324室
  • 講師:Dr. James Sullivan (the Australian National Univ.)
  • 題名:Positron Annihilation Studies of Materials using a Surko Trap-Based Beam
  • 要旨:

The development of the Surko trap has revolutionised positron physics, in particular for atomic and molecular studies. At the Australian National University, we have developed a positron trap and beam based on this concept for application to the study of material structure. Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy has been used to study open volume defects in a wide range of materials from polymers to semiconductors to metals. This talk will present an overview of the operation of the positron materials beamline at the ANU, along with examples of recent work on selected targets. Plans for the expansion of the capabilities of the beamline will also be presented.
