In my talk I will review some of the experiments on strongly correlated electron systems which I took part to over the last years, exploiting various sources around Europe and various techniques, from spectroscopy to diffraction, both in soft and hard regime.
I will concentrate on the electronic orderings in Magneto-Electrics, Multiferroics, Superconductors and their parent compounds. A scattering perspective on general mechanisms underlying and on their specific realizations in some materials will be provided, together with caveats on the specific experimental technique used. Finally, I will present the new CSX beamline of NSLS-II (BNL, NY) and conclude my talk offering some future perspectives on my domain of interest.
