KEK

IMSS24-8-E

IMSS has 4 science divisions, 2 experimental facilities, and 2 research centers to carry out research and development by using 4 quantum beams: synchrotron radiation, neutrons, muons, and slow positrons, as shown below.

  • Synchrotron Radiation Science Division I
  • Synchrotron Radiation Science Division II
  • Neutron Science Division
  • Muon Science Division
  • Photon Factory
  • Slow Positron Facility

For more details, see https://www2.kek.jp/imss/eng/about

The successful candidates are expected to carry out one of the following researches and developments in materials and life sciences. The workplace is KEK Tokai campus for (1) and (2), and KEK Tsukuba campus for (3).

  • (1) Materials science research at Neutron Science Division through advanced usage of the existing neutron instruments operated by KEK in J-PARC MLF.
  • (2) Materials science research at Neutron Muon Division through advanced usage of the existing muon instruments operated by KEK in J-PARC MLF.
  • (3) Materials and life science research, as well as development and sophistication of experimental and analytical techniques, at Synchrotron Radiation Science Division I, Synchrotron Radiation Science Division II, or Photon Factory.

The neutron beamlines installed and operated by KEK in J-PARC MLF which promote materials science are BL06, BL08, BL09, BL12, BL16, BL21, and BL23. Please visit the following site.
