The Photon Factory aims to create new research applications that take advantage of the properties of synchrotron radiation, and is promoting the research and development of application technologies and the beamline end station including experimental apparatus. The successful candidate is expected to lead and promote these activities in cooperation with the light-source-accelerator (KEK ACCL 6th) division staffs, as well as beamline scientists and engineers, without being limited by the current field of expertise.

The candidate will belong to one of the 10 methodological groups and will be primarily responsible for managing the relevant beamlines and conducting research and development. While it is desirable to promote methods that utilize soft X-rays, we are seeking researchers who are motivated to contribute to the development of synchrotron radiation science from a broad perspective. Currently, with a view to the future plan of the facility, experiments and research using simultaneous multiple quantum beams are being proposed at the PF, and demonstration experiments are underway. The candidate is also expected to promote experiments and research using simultaneous multiple quantum beams across research fields.

The candidate is hired as an associate professor or an assistant professor in consideration of the candidate's career and other factors.
